Two stars* are born - Matchday 3 Preview

*Maybe

Looking back on the match against the elves, I can't say I would change much. Our drive was a shambles as the elves flooded the flings, which is always a problem if you are the lower strength team. Halflings can only really deal with this sort of strategy by causing enough damage to make the opposition hesitant to engage. Unfortunately for me, with an officious ref and surprisingly tough catchers, Chilli never really suffered enough to think twice about bullying me. I doubt we could have sustained the drive even if we focused on the ball more - and once the one TTM scoring attempt we did have went completely wrong (unavoidable chance), the game was over. Hopefully thought, the legacy of the match will be the SPPs that LL Cool Jelly and Snoop Doggy Bags picked up to gather a movement boost and AG boost respectively.

Though you always have to be mindful of Halfling bloat, in my experience an AG4 Halfling can be an absolute game changer, so we'll be doing everything we can to improve Snoop Doggy Bags and really build a star. Hell, I've even hired an apothecary now to look after him. So onto Matchday 3 - versus Jip Jipperson's Dark Elves, the Baernathrad Betterlates.

Jip's had a tough start to the league with two losses, but is relatively injury free and boasts a Dodging runner and four blocking blitzers, which will be problematic for my little guys. However with only two rerolls there's a good chance we can use the Chef to cause him problems, as the Pro Elves really struggled with dodging and ball handling when stripped of their rerolls, so hopefully we can repeat that. I'm basically expecting a similar match as last week, but I will be taking a Chef and Bribe this time, rather than Chef and Puggy. Hopefully I will have more success injuring downed Dark Elves and give them cause to back off, but if not I'm expecting to struggle with their pace and agility. If my CAS dice go well though and the offfensive Halfling tossing improves on last week, then there's always a chance...
